CBU Celebrates 2011 Spring Convocation
Cape Breton University is celebrating 571 graduating students during the 2011 Spring Convocation ceremony on Saturday, May 14th at 2 p.m. These students, from 18 countries including Canada, China and Egypt, are set to walk across the stage to receive degrees, diplomas and certificates in various disciplines.
Cape Breton University President and Vice-Chancellor, Dr. John Harker notes “This year’s graduates join the thousands of CBU alumni who have left campus to affect change economically, socially and developmentally in communities around the world, and I expect it’s also true of by the Class of 2011. This ceremony not only signifies the accomplishments of our students and exceptional honorary degree recipients, it also recognizes the support that is provided by family and friends throughout this great journey.”
New students of The International Centre for EAP (ICEAP) attended the ceremony as distinguished guests. New students not only experienced to Canadian university culture, but also gained new expectations of their upcoming college life.
