Joseph Aucoin - Academic Lead, Bridge Pre-MBA InstructorSydney Campus-Administration

Degree: B. Sc. Double Major Business Administration/ Mathematics; Diploma in Applied Information Technology- focus on Software Development

I have been with ICEAP for over a year now and I have thoroughly enjoyed the entire experience.

After working for several years in the local business community I decided to travel overseas to begin my career in the ESL and EAP industry. I was able to work in a variety of capacities, teach a diverse group of people, and gain unique insight into what it means to experience other cultures.

I feel I have been able to gain a great deal of experience over my seven years away from Cape Breton, which were spent mainly in Seoul, South Korea and British Columbia. It is precisely this experience that has encouraged me to return to my home to help develop something for which I feel a great passion. I truly believe that ICEAP is an institution that will enrich not only your students, but the staff and community as well. It is my commitment to ensure that this is a reality.

My journey in Cape Breton started in ICEAP back in 2010, I was among the first group of students in ICEAP back then. After around a year of studying academic English and adapting to the academic culture of ICEAP, I was able to enter Cape Breton University smoothly.

I am beyond happy and blessed to have been able to stay with ICEAP after my graduation. As I majored in hospitality, it has always been my personal and professional goal to work and interact with different people.

ICEAP is truly a great school where students with different nationalities and backgrounds get to learn not only English but are also given plenty of opportunities to attend local events and activities where they can learn more about Canadian culture.

I am thrilled to serve and welcome all students world wide to start another adventure with ICEAP.

Linda McLesterToronto Campus-Instructor

After graduating from a powerful combination of two major subjects English language & literature and Philosophy, I took off on the journey to discover what suits my role as a teacher best. All throughout few years of teaching I soon realized the significance of Adult Learning. Both previously and upon completion of my TESL Ontario certificate I was honored to have the opportunity and work both as a volunteer and mentor in classes of DCDSB and DDSB, and various private companies. This experience enabled me to develop the awareness of the teacher’s responsibility to foster cultural diversity in a learning environment inclusive of adult learners with mild to severe physical and mental exceptionalities.

Steven PollittToronto Campus-Instructor

I am a graduate of the Physical and Health Education program at the University of Toronto. I am also a graduate of Sheridan College, where I returned to school and earned a diploma in Media Studies. Although both credentials have served me well in the job market and beyond, it is teaching English that, for most of the past 20 years, has been my chief professional interest.

My ESL teaching experience includes jobs in Czech Republic, Saudi Arabia, and South Korea. It also includes several years of work in Toronto schools. I have taught all age groups, of every level of difficulty. And after all of these hours in the classroom, I remain driven and impassioned about teaching students interested in learning the English language.
